Ms. Shirley Cecilia has a Master of Engineering and a wealth of professional knowledge. As a project leader, she established the Data Protection Agency in Curaçao. In addition, she served as a project leader for the National Registry System and a consultant to the Ministry of Governance, Planning and Public Services.

In the past, she also established the National Laboratory’s ICT department, now the ADC. Her extensive knowledge in information technology and project management provides a valuable addition to this work, enriching her knowledge and experience.

CBP BES is an independent supervisory authority established by Royal Decree. Its mission is to ensure that personal data processing complies with the BES Personal Data Protection Law (Wbp BES). In addition, CBP BES oversees police data processing (Wpg) and the Basic Register of Personal Data in Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba (Wba BES).
“With the appointment of Ms. Cecilia, we bring a wealth of knowledge and experience. Shirley is passionate about her profession and committed to upholding the privacy rights of Caribbean Dutch citizens,” said Chairman Glen Thodé.
