February 4, National Oil Company (NOC)Mustafa Sanalla received the British Ambassador to Libya Nicholas Hopton and his delegation at the Libyan Olympic Committee headquarters in Tripoli.

According to a statement from the Libyan National Oil Corporation, many topics were discussed during the talks, the most prominent of which was the need to maintain the independence of the Libyan National Oil Corporation and its prominent role in supporting the national economy, as well as how to strengthen economic cooperation between the Libyan National Oil Corporation and BP and its contribution to the development of Libya’s oil and gas industry.

Sanalla highly praised the UK’s support for the Libyan National Oil Corporation over the years, appreciated the UK’s position and support for the Libyan oil industry, and pointed out that the Libyan National Oil Corporation looks forward to expanding cooperation and investment with British oil and energy companies and using UK’s expertise to promote and develop Libya’s oil industry.

Ambassador Hopeton stressed that Libya needs a unified government, which will help restore stability as soon as possible. He pointed out that with a unified national unity government, the Libyan National Oil Corporation will be able to obtain a budget to carry out necessary maintenance of its facilities, so that it can implement projects and future plans and increase production.
