Xinhua News Agency, Ankara, December 19 (Reporter Chen Cong) The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the 19th saying that Israel ignored the warnings of the international community and continued to announce the construction of settlements in Turkey. This behavior is provocative.
“We strongly condemn Israel’s illegal settlement activities, which violate international law and deliberately undermine the foundations of a lasting and just peace,” Turkey’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
“Israel must understand that by unilaterally pursuing its ongoing settlement activities and other policies that violate international law, Israel cannot achieve its goal of changing the historical, cultural and religious character of the Palestinian territories,” the statement added.
Turkey calls on Israel to fulfill its obligations under international law, achieve lasting peace in the Middle East and immediately stop all activities that undermine the foundations of peace.
Ankara also urged the international community to take “necessary measures” against what it called Israel’s “unilateral and illegal activities.”
“Türkiye will continue to support the Palestinian people against Israel’s illegal policies,” the statement said.
