The design of Mamelodi Sundowns’ new home and away jerseys is full of infinite possibilities

Rise.Rule.Repeat. The jersey features the traditional yellow (home) and blue (away) colours with an African inspired pattern featuring a crown and stars. The design tells the story of the club since its inception (Rise), with the crown representing consecutive PSL titles and dominance in South African football, and the stars representing the success of the men’s and women’s teams in the CAF Champions League (Rule) and unprecedented success, with 14 league titles to date (Repeat).

“This kit tells the story of the club’s spectacular rise to become the undisputed most successful team in the history of the South African Premier League, including winning the past seven consecutive league titles. Masandawana holds the crown of South African football and the star represents the team’s conquest of the African continent,” said Brett Bellinger, Marketing Director of PUMA South Africa. “It is very difficult to keep winning and create legends, so we designed a kit to celebrate this culture of excellence.”

“We are sure our supporters will wear this kit with pride as the club’s unprecedented success is due to their contribution. As the new season approaches, we plan to compete for every trophy and continue our defence of the league title,” said Mamelodi Sundowns spokesperson Tiani Mabunda.

The kit comes with an updated rubberised version of the Sundowns badge, ‘The Sky’s the Limit’ lettering on the back of the collar, and a homologation badge.
