The tender process for the operation of the Netherlands Pavilion during the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, Japan has been announced. The tender offers hospitality and facility management companies the opportunity to showcase themselves on a large international stage. A consortium is being sought to organize and execute all aspects of the Netherlands Pavilion, including catering, hospitality, operations and event management, human resource management, security, cleaning and the operation of the gift shop.
The 2025 Osaka Kansai World Expo will be held in Japan from April 13 to October 13, 2025. The Expo is expected to receive about 28 million business and private visitors, of which about 90% are expected to come from Japan. More than 160 countries and organizations will participate. The theme of this Expo is “Designing Future Societies for Our Lives”, focusing on shaping a world where major crises such as climate and health will affect liveability.
The theme of the Dutch exhibition is “Common Ground: Creating a New Dawn Together”, which aims to showcase the Netherlands’ innovative solutions in areas such as energy transition. During Expo 2025, the pavilion aims to provide a meeting place for companies, knowledge institutions and (cultural) organizations to bring together different perspectives and expertise to find collective solutions to global challenges. In addition to the visitor experience, the pavilion also includes event spaces, shops and cafes. The design was completed by the architecture firm RAU, the engineering company DGMR, the experience design studio Tellart and the Japanese architecture company Asanuma.
