Tuesday, which is Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) Members of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum voted to elect members of the Presidential Council at a meeting in Switzerland aimed at selecting an interim unity administration to lead Libya to national elections on December 24, 2021.
The voting took place in a free and transparent manner following interactive sessions with candidates for the Presidential Council, all of which were live streamed for the Libyan public.
The vote was conducted in the form of an electoral college in accordance with the electoral mechanism for the interim administration adopted by the Lagos People’s Liberation Front on January 19, 2021.
The Libyan Popular Liberation Front Certification Commission observed the counting process, which was conducted by UNSMIL electoral experts.

The Secretary-General’s Acting Special Representative for Libya, Stephanie Williams, commended the members of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum for their serious engagement in the voting process, noting their general agreement to accept the results of the vote.
