On 23 June 2023, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Dennis Wiersma asked King Willem-Alexander to relieve him of his ministerial duties. The King honourably relieved Mr Wiersma on the advice of the Prime Minister, thanking him for his many important services to the Sovereign and the Kingdom. The King’s Office announced the news.
Minister of Education, Culture and Science Robbert Dijkgraaf will assume responsibility for the portfolio of Minister of Primary and Secondary Education until a new minister is appointed.
