I have often wondered why the opposition or the incoming government always seems to question everything the incumbent government does in terms of development.

I had thought that any worthwhile project should be considered a “plus” because anything positive the current government does would be in the interest of the next government after it takes office.

But the opposition (all opposition, no matter which party) always seems to forget that they were in government before and that a lot of what is currently being done could have been conceived by them, so they get all the credit and the praise and recognition that comes with it. Can’t we see the positive side of everything? Can’t we work out a long-term, positive development plan that both sides can live with?

Isn’t change never for the better but always comes with difficulties and obstacles?

In my life, I worry about all of these things and question why we choose to live this way.

Although no one reads books nowadays, and all the BroadCast Unitedlectuals on our island refuse to discuss international issues that affect us all, some may feel or even suggest the need for a “guidebook for life”.
