July 8dayThe Caribbean Nursing and Youth Netherlands (ZJCN) will launch the health care card on St. Eustatius. The launch date for Saba is April 22.nd Bonaire will follow later this year. The Health Care Card is a personal card designed to facilitate access to emergency medical care abroad for insured residents of the Caribbean Netherlands. This relates to urgent medical treatment that cannot be postponed.

Health care card as proof of insurance
The Health Care Card replaces the Certificate of Insurance. The insured no longer needs to go to a ZJCN office to obtain a Certificate of Insurance before travelling abroad. The Health Care Card includes the details of the insured person as well as the contact information of the ZJCN. If urgent medical care is required abroad, the individual should contact the ZJCN as soon as possible. In addition, the Health Care Card can be used in pharmacies and laboratories on Sint Eustatius.
A medical card is not travel insurance
The Health Care Card is designed for emergency medical situations overseas that cannot be postponed. ZJCN strongly recommends that all Caribbean Netherlands residents purchase travel insurance before traveling abroad.
