Gunai Uslu, Secretary of State for Culture and Media at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, has requested His Majesty the King to remove her from her position effective December 1, 2023. Following the advice of the Prime Minister, the King honourably removed Ms Uslu from her position, thanking her for her many important contributions to the Sovereign and the Kingdom. The King’s Office announced the news.
Minister of Education, Culture and Science Robbert Dijkgraaf will assume Ms Uslu’s responsibilities until a new state secretary is appointed. A D66 member will be sought to serve as state secretary until a new government is formed.
