The Sauce Advertising team is made up of caring creatives. They care about the work they produce, their colleagues and the causes Sauce supports. They are not only involved in these causes indirectly through the agency’s clients, but also through causes the agency supports directly, such as The Love Trust and the YES program, their charity partners and even their own Sauce University upskilling program.

Sauce Advertising meets future creatives at Nokuphila School during Mandela Day

Sauce Advertising supports The Love Trust, a local non-profit organisation that manages Nokuphila Nursery and Primary School in Midrand. In honour of Nelson Mandela’s legacy, creatives at Sauce Advertising prepared a very special Career Day presentation for the school’s senior students.

Unfortunately, positions in the creative industries are not often seen as a viable career option, especially for those who come from underprivileged backgrounds. But the truth is, not everyone is passionate about lucrative careers such as medicine and law. As an advertising agency, Sauce Advertising believes that everyone has a spark of creativity within them; it just takes a little passion to ignite it.

To help spark these creative sparks, the Sauce Advertising team showed the young people at Nokuphila School how their love for things like drawing, storytelling and even TikTok trends could lead to a fulfilling career in advertising. By engaging with the children and speaking to them in a way they could understand, the creatives at Sauce Advertising were able to provide helpful career advice in a fun and exciting way.

Sauce Advertising affirms an empowered future

YES (Youth Employment Services) is a non-profit organization that provides learning opportunities and skill development tools to help youth enter the workforce. This is another cause that Sauce Advertising is proud to support.

YES has worked with more than 1,700 companies and created more than 148,000 jobs since 2019. 53% of YES youth come from households receiving grants and to date, they have received more than R8.1 billion in wages.

To date, Sauce Advertising has directly contributed to the employment of 30 YES students, amounting to approximately R1.6 million in registration fees, YES fees and wages. One of the young people that Sauce Advertising has helped to find stable employment is Kay-Lo Koeberg. He was given the opportunity to complete his IT tutoring studies through the YES program. Today, he is certified and works as a junior IT tutor. These stories are testament to the huge impact YES has on the lives of young South Africans.

Upgrading the Sauce University Team’s Skills

Sauce Advertising recently launched its Sauce University upskilling program. The program is designed to provide growth opportunities to the company’s employees so they can become better employees and contribute better ideas. In the age of digital marketing, this ongoing upskilling is necessary as technology is constantly evolving and new opportunities emerge every day.

In early July, Sauce Advertising recognized a group of digital marketers who had completed training on the YEXT platform. YEXT is an excellent SEO and SEM tool used by some of the largest companies in the world, and Sauce Advertising is their preferred South African partner.

“Our digital and creative teams have benefited greatly from the Yext platform training, and we are proud of them for receiving the certifications as it is a testament to the quality of our deliverables to our clients,” said Leanne Levine, our local marketing director.
