President Ramkalawan receives police officers injured in 7 December presidential palace blast – News – Seychelles Presidential Palace

The President of the Republic, Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan,day The police were on duty when they paid a courtesy visit to State House when the bombing took place in December. Deputy Inspector Nadine Atala and Constable Pierre Adelaide were accompanied on the visit by the Minister of Interior, Mr. Errol Fonseka, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ted Barbe and the Head of Emergency Services, Superintendent Jean Paul Ernesta.

President Ramkalawan welcomed them to the presidential palace and praised the two officers for their courage and determination to continue serving the country.

“Today, on behalf of Seychelles and myself, I would like to formally congratulate you for your bravery and dedication. When duty called, you rose to the challenge without fear and without reservation, despite the perceived danger. The resilience and strength you showed in the face of danger is admirable. The nation salutes you and we are grateful that you have all recovered and are able to continue to perform your respective duties. It takes great courage to be frontline police officers, who are often in danger, but your quick response in the chaos of the explosion saved your lives and the lives of others. Thank you again for your courage and service to the nation,” said President Ramkalawan.

The meeting with the President provided an opportunity for SI Atala and PC Adelaide to share with the Head of State their experiences in the early hours of December 7, 2023, the recovery process so far, and the atmosphere since the resumption of work.

Speaking to the media after the courtesy call, Sergeant Atala and Constable Adelaide thanked God for keeping them alive. They conveyed a message to other officers in the force, urging them to stay motivated, focus on everything they do and continue to perform their duties seriously.
