The President of the Republic of Seychelles and Commander-in-Chief of the Seychelles Armed Forces, Mr Wavell Ramalawan, honoured and promoted four SDF officers during a brief ceremony at the Presidential Palace this morning.
Captain Ewen Moise, who was promoted in December 2023, was the first officer to be formally promoted after returning from overseas training. He was followed by Lieutenant Derek Dodin and Lieutenant Fadi Fore, who attended the Officer Cadet Course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala from December 2023 to May 2024 and were commissioned thereafter. Lieutenant Anil Bron is the youngest of the officers, with four years of officer experience, having just returned from the Cadet Course at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, India.
All four officers possess the expertise required to meet the requirements of each branch of the Seychelles Armed Forces. They have undergone extensive military training to ensure they can meet the rigorous demands of military service and demonstrate strong leadership potential.
In his speech, the Commander-in-Chief congratulated the officers on their promotion and commissioning and acknowledged their discipline and hard work as qualified officers. “You have successfully completed your training and are now qualified in your respective fields. I hope that you will respect your superiors and uphold the required professional standards while performing your duties,” said President Ramkalawan.
The ceremony was attended by Vice President Ahmed Afif, Chief of Defence Force Staff Brigadier General Michael Rosset, Chief of Staff of Seychelles Defence Force Colonel Jean Attalla and other senior officers of the Seychelles Defence Force.
