Currently, there is no postal code system in Bonaire, Saba and Sint Eustatius. As a result, mail for residents, entrepreneurs and (official) organizations often goes undelivered or arrives too late. Furthermore, online services (e-commerce) are not available without postal codes. In order to improve (online) government services in the Caribbean Netherlands, it is proposed to establish postal codes in the series 0000AA-0999ZZ. The internet consultation is open to everyone and you can contribute and respond until August 26th.

Postal Code Caribbean Netherlands

New postal code system

The proposal to establish a postal code series 0000AA-0999ZZ for the Caribbean Netherlands is based on a consultation report by the Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK) in 2024, which looked at how postal codes could help improve mail delivery.

The proposal takes into account the following points:

  • This postal code system is used throughout the Caribbean Netherlands.
  • The postal code system is consistent with that of the Netherlands in Europe.
  • Islands can be identified by their postal codes. Each island has at least one postal code.
  • The postcode system must be flexible and ready for growth.

The recommendations and proposals were developed in consultation with public entities, implementing organizations, businesses, FXDC, PostNL and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy (EZK) in Bonaire, Saba and Sint Eustatius.
