In 1986, Finland lived in an era of prosperity and optimism. Paavo Karjalainen The idea of building a land swimming pool in Nalikari, Oulu came to my mind.
Just over three years later, Finland’s first subtropical spa hotel, Eden, opened in Oulu, on the seaside in Nallikari, a few kilometres from the city centre.
The plastic palm trees, slides and wonderful glass designs are a delight to behold. It has quickly become a northern paradise for local families and tourists alike.
The limit of one million visitors will be exceeded in a few years. Eden brings comfort during the recession and banking crisis.
