Bishop Ribardo Dumas, Rector of the diocese, and creator Jean-Charles de Castelbajac give us an exclusive look at the liturgical decorations created to celebrate the reopening of the cathedral.

«The Noble Simplicity of Dressing Etiquette», this is the “brief” (in contemporary terms) given by the Paris diocese to Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. Or even to promote, through the 2,000 cassocks, stoles and dalmatis that will be worn during the celebration of the reopening of Notre-Dame, a dignified and sober beauty rooted in the simplicity of the Gospel, in line with the teachings of the Second Vatican Council on Sacred Art. These liturgical ornaments (given to the cathedral under the sponsorship of the Arts and Crafts Corporation) will be worn throughout the inauguration, that is, from December 7 to Pentecost, June 8, 2025, and then on important occasions in the future, such as the Chrism Mass for Holy Wednesday and the ordination of priests.
