He was one of the iconic figures in the socio-economic community who passed away last weekend, and many in these fields are paying tribute to him.

Serge Jean-Joseph died on Friday morning at the Pierre Zobda-Quitman hospital in Fort-de-France at the age of 80.

After many years of managing construction and public works companies, he also served as president of the trade union of this branch of activity, as well as of MEDEF in Martinique.

The octogenarian, who is known for his outspokenness, also supports initiatives for a paid vacation fund for construction, particularly for Port Marin.

For several years, he withdrew from the business, while continuing to be involved in the development of the Galleria shopping center and remaining a shareholder in the Perfect Group.

Serge Jean-Joseph is the father of the famous Martinican racing driver Simon.

For MEDEF, “Martinique, known for its numerous works, will always preserve its memory”, while the Association of Associated Enterprises believes that “the fight for the development of our island at all levels, including sports, will be his struggle in life.”
