Voters in Saint-Pierre must return to the polls next Sunday for the second round of voting, which will be between Raphael Martin and Christian Lafayette.
Christian Rapha’s bet on winning the Saint-Pierre municipal by-election in the first round will therefore not succeed.
He will have to return to the campaign trail, as former mayor Rafael Martin did, for the town’s runoff election next Sunday.
Raphael Martine had a participation rate of 69%, a significant increase compared to last year, thus leading with 1,313 votes to Christian Rapha’s 1,258 votes.
Eliane cesto Gustave, who counts 121 votes, should make the call for Christian Rapha next Sunday.
The election of Christian Rafa in March 2014 was cancelled by the Council of State, and tensions remained at the polling stations.
