Martinique, flu: four people in intensive care, one death

We are only now learning that a man died in hospital last week from the flu, while four other people, three adults and a child, were admitted to intensive care.

Health authorities have recorded nearly 15,000 cases so far and they estimate the outbreak will continue for another month, with the peak recorded two weeks ago.

In fact, we detect between 3,500 and 2,500 cases of three types of influenza virus detected by experts every week.

They pointed out that the epidemic this year is more serious than in previous years.
