Heads of the Gallion mill in Trinidad are launching the 2015 sugar production campaign, which will see nearly 50,000 tonnes of sugarcane crushed.

According to the management of the Galion de Trinité factory, the 2015 sugar production activities were launched with good support.

This year, they expect to crush nearly 55,000 tonnes of sugarcane, compared to last year’s result of crushing 40,000 tonnes.

To date, nearly 6,000 tons of cane have been crushed, which indicates a favorable outcome for this new activity, as it must be acknowledged that production remains a permanent challenge for the site.

The plant, which employs nearly 4,000 people, benefited from more than 700,000 euros in subsidies from the regional council and the general council.
