John Soriano has been appointed Governor of the Public Institutions of Bonaire from 1 August 2024, on the recommendation of the Secretary of State for Kingdom Relations and Digitalization.
He was inaugurated by Acting Kingdom Representative Jan Helmond in a ceremony at the Island Council on 3 August in the presence of invited guests and family members.
Acting Kingdom Representative Jan Helmond said at the swearing-in ceremony that he looked forward to good cooperation with the new Governor-General and wished him “wisdom, patience, sense of humor and, most importantly, good health to complete this difficult task with full energy.”
Afterwards, Bonaire residents had the opportunity to congratulate the Governor.
