For the first time in Taiwan, a highly pathogenic avian influenza virus that can be transmitted from bird to human was found in a dead gosling in Yuli, Hualien. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health and Welfare tracked the poultry farms within a radius of 3 kilometers and listed 168 close contacts for tracking. No symptoms have been shown so far and they will be monitored until February 12.
