Former Martinique priest sentenced to 10 years in prison for rape

Raphael Lowensky, 53, is expected to spend the next 10 years in prison.

In fact, a former priest of the religious group “Merci Seigneur” was convicted between 1994 and 2001 of rape and aggravated assault of a minor.

The trial in the Assizes was marked by the horrific emotions revealed by the victim as he testified in the bar.

These acts were allegedly committed during meetings at the time or at the pastor’s home.

The latter, considering his role at the law firm, believed that his victim had consented and was sentenced to 10 years’ criminal imprisonment, despite an excellent plea by the president of the law firm, Charles-Henry Michaux, who ended his 45-year career with this trial.
