The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) have selected a partner to operate the Netherlands Pavilion during Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan. Van Der Linde Food, Catering & Events will provide event management, security, cleaning, waste management and maintenance services.
With less than a year to go until the opening of the Osaka Expo, plans for the Dutch presence are taking shape. With the signing of the contract with Van Der Linde, key operating partners have been selected. Van Der Linde will provide the facilities and hospitality management of the pavilion. Facilities management includes security, cleaning, waste management and maintenance. Hospitality management includes managing the public café when the pavilion is open, catering for events in the business lounge and running the gift shop. Van Der Linde will work with a number of Dutch and Japanese partners and suppliers. For example, Randstad Japan will be responsible for the recruitment and selection of staff, while Japanese partner JEFF Co. will be responsible for contract management of all Japanese suppliers.
The theme of the Netherlands Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka is “Common Ground”, and it aims to present visitors with innovative solutions in areas such as the energy transition. The Netherlands also wants to provide a meeting place for businesses, knowledge institutions and (cultural) organisations during Expo 2025. Dutch ministries will organise events at the pavilion aimed at promoting international cooperation and exchanging knowledge, expertise and ideas. Sustainability and innovation are important features of the exhibition. Van der Linde’s business philosophy fits in perfectly with this. The company uses 100% organic, sustainably produced and fair trade products as much as possible.
Van Der Linde was also the host partner for the previous Expo 2020 Dubai. Robin Van Der Schuyt, Managing Director of Van Der Linde, said:
“We had a very positive impression of the last Expo in Dubai, which made us see Expo 2025 in Osaka as a new challenge. The theme of ‘Common Ground’ appealed to us because we share the vision of ‘Co-Creation’, where collaboration leads to impact and sustainable solutions. Together with several local partners, we developed a creative proposal. We are therefore proud that these collaborations have led to the award of this contract. We will use our many years of knowledge and operational experience to support the Netherlands’ successful participation in the Expo in Japan.”
The selection is made through a contract award process.
