Judge Rodrigo Estigarribia finally dismissed Lida Concepcion Cano and Fabiana Soledad Gasset, the wife and daughter of former Resistencia president Roberto Garcette Rodríguez, for alleged loan sharking, money laundering and other crimes. Roberto Garcette Rodríguez and his son Roberto Garcette Cano will face trial, while Lida Cano and Fabiana Gasset are exempt from any charges.

The resolution issued by the judge responded to the request granted by the Public Ministry for the definitive dismissal of the case against Lida Cano, who was accused of money laundering as an author, of mediating as an instigator the production of public documents containing false content, of using public resources to produce documents false regarding her participation as co-author and of criminal association as an author. In the case of singer and former reality TV competitor Fabisol Gasset, she was accused of complicity in money laundering and participation in a criminal gang.

Regarding the charges against Fabiana Garcete, Judge Estigarribia noted that, according to the investigation, as a trustee of the company Credy Money SA, Fabiana should have known about the simulated purchase of the property located in Luque. However, after analyzing the evidence, the judge concluded that there was insufficient evidence to show that he was aware of this action. The ruling also mentioned that Fabiana did not sign Public Deed No. 24 dated October 6, 2015 on behalf of Credy Money SA, which further proves her inconsistency with the facts.

In his ruling, the judge stressed that Fabiana Gasset lacked the elements for a conviction and therefore applied Article 359, paragraph 1, of the Criminal Procedure Code, the last alternative to the Criminal Procedure Code, and ordered her final dismissal.

Upon learning of the court’s decision, Fabiana Soledad Garcete expressed her gratitude in a public statement:

“As you all know, I was charged in a case more than a year ago. Despite the attacks and offenses against me and my family, I decided to remain silent and not make any type of statement or defense online or in the media. Throughout this process, I trusted in God and justice, knowing that everything would be cleared up and it was only a matter of time before my innocence was proven.

Today, it is with great gratitude that I announce that this case has been finally dismissed, freeing me from all charges.

I can only thank everyone who believed in me, prayed for me, and walked with us through the difficult times throughout this process: family, friends, our attorneys, followers, my workplace, my faith family. I also want to publicly say that we will not rest until justice is served for the entire Gasset family. Everyone will be free of this cause; we know that in due time, it will be, and that truth will always prevail. To God be the glory! Blessings to you all.”

Fabiana Garcete quoted Psalm 62:1-2 in her message as a testimony of her faith and trust in divine justice.
