Pacific RISA is pleased to announce that we are the new Center for Community Energy and Environmental Justice (CCEEJ)one of the 16 Environmental Protection Agencies (EPA) in the United States Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Center (EJ TCTAC) Established nationwide in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy, CCEEJ is dedicated to working with community organizations to provide technical assistance including: conducting environmental and energy justice needs assessments and analyses, facilitating navigation of government systems, identifying grant opportunities, increasing grant success and management capacity, supporting decision making, and elevating community champions.
The benefit of being a small part of a larger network is the ability to meaningfully collaborate and share best practices with a wide range of partner organizations that have decades of experience working in the area of energy equity and justice across EPA Region 9, which includes California, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa, and the Northern Mariana Islands.
Pacific RISA will Energy Equity Exchangea grassroots collaborative of public, private, nonprofit and NGO stakeholders dedicated to advancing environmental and energy equity through dialogue, training, policy and collaboration. The organization has already partnered with community organizations across Hawai’i to conduct equity trainings, energy and climate policy workshops and workdays. Energy Equity’s dedicated network coordinator will work with local and regional partners to expand services and identify regional best practices with partners at the University of Guam, as well as engage with relevant climate and equity groups in the American Samoa Governor’s Office of Resilience later in the project.
