Cairo, September 18 (Xinhua) — Egyptian media reported on September 18 that the US-Egypt joint exercise codenamed “Bright Star-2017” will last until September 20, simulating a real battlefield environment. The exercise will last until September 20 and will be held at the Mohammed Naguib Military Base in Egypt.
The joint military exercise continued on Sunday, with the first phase of the drills involving training of the joint command centre under the supervision of senior leadership.
The purpose of completing tactical tasks is to assess the joint operational capabilities of participating forces and make appropriate decisions.
The Bright Star exercise is considered one of the most important joint military exercises between the Egyptian and U.S. armed forces, reflecting the strong military cooperation between the two countries.
The exercise is aimed at strengthening strategic and security relations between the United States and Egypt.
