Typically, the symbols on clothing care labels are divided into five standard categories to help you understand how to care for your clothing.
Washing symbols
Almost all washing symbols are based on an image that looks like a bowl of water. The only one that doesn’t look like this is the “no drain” symbol, which resembles a twisted piece of clothing with a cross through it.
Cold water wash – A container marked 30°C or with a little water.
Perlite Warm – A container with water marked with 40°C or two dots.

Bleach symbol
All whitening symbols are based on the shape of an equilateral triangle. There aren’t as many bleach symbols as there are laundry symbols, but it’s important to pay attention to them because using the wrong type of bleach or using bleach when it’s not recommended can drastically change the condition of your clothes.
Allow bleaching – An empty triangle, with the top facing up.
Use bleachable… Chlorine Free – A triangle with two parallel diagonals inside.

Drying symbol
Washing and bleaching aren’t the only things that can damage your clothes, improper drying can also cause damage. All drying symbols are square in shape with various details inside.
Tumble dryable (any temperature) – A square with a circle inside that touches each side of the square.
Tumble dry in the dryer at low temperature – A square with a circle inside and a point at the center.
Tumble dry on medium heat – A square with a circle inside and two dots in the middle of the circle.
High temperature tumble drying – A square with a circle inside and three dots in the middle of the circle.
Perpetually recycled or synthetic materials – A square with a circle inside and a horizontal line below the square.
Refined or non-refined cycles – A square with a circle inside and two horizontal lines below the square.
Do not tumble dry – A square with a circle inside and a cross over the whole symbol.
Ironing symbols
Vowel symbols are usually easy to recognize because they are shaped like vowels. Like the symbols for washing and drying, the symbols for ironing mainly refer to the allowable temperature, as well as some other useful little facts.
Cold Iron (max 110°C) – There is a corner inside the iron.

The last symbol can sometimes be confused with the Do Not Tumble Dry symbol. Remember, if there is a square around the circle, it means tumble dry. If not, it is a chemical wash and it says Mirror.
