The Government has announced specific measures to control the spread of the coronavirus. These measures have been closely coordinated with the 6 safety zones and are based on urgent advice from the Outbreak Management Team. These measures will come into effect at 18:00 on Sunday 20 September 2020.
The measures apply to the six safety regions where coronavirus infections are currently growing fastest. These are Amsterdam-Amsterland, Rotterdam-Lemond, Haaglanden, Utrecht, Kniemerland and Midden, Holland.
3 general measures apply to all 6 regions:
- Venues with catering licenses must ban guests and stop all music at midnight. They must close at 1:00am.
- Gatherings of groups of more than 50 people are prohibited. This means, for example, that no parties, receptions or outings with more than 50 people can take place. This restriction applies both indoors and outdoors. But there are some exceptions, such as demonstrations, religious gatherings, funerals, and dances and plays.
- Organisers of gatherings of more than 50 people must notify the authorities in advance. For example, a public concert in a park. The notification requirement does not apply to venues with catering licenses, religious gatherings, shops and markets, libraries, cultural venues and similar places where there is a continuous flow of visitors.
Six regions are also taking specific measures.
