Yellow Thunderstorm – Weather conditions that require monitoring

The Prefect of Morbihan informs you that the department of Morbihan will be in yellow weather alert (level 2/4) from 3 pm to 9 pm this Thursday, 2024, and the meteorological situation requires monitoring.
During the same period, Morbihan department also entered a yellow alert for rain and floods.
This evolution of vigilance is a subject of concern to national authorities.
Weather Update
In a very uncertain situation, thunderstorms will develop in the central part of the Loire Valley during the day and then move towards eastern Brittany. The rainfall nature of these storms is clear, but their location remains difficult to predict. Accumulated rainfall under these storms could exceed 50 mm in a few hours, and peaks of 70 mm cannot be excluded, and even more in local areas.
The main concern is currently in the eastern part of Morbihan, the southern part of Ille-et-Vilaine and the northern part of Loire-Atlantique; Météo-France has not ruled out the possibility of a change in alert level.

• Avoid walking in the forest
• Avoid using telephones and electrical appliances
• Immediately report any fire outbreaks you may witness

• Do not walk or drive near underwater paths or waterways under any circumstances. A vehicle, even a 4WD, can be swept away by 30cm of water.
