This article is based on a study and paper by Kamila Klingorová and Banu Gökarıksel, which used self-portraits to investigate the emotional geographies of the studied. The authors acted as independent participants, selecting and describing photos of seemingly mundane places, and then considering why these photos evoked strong emotions.
