The Personal Data Protection Supervisory Commission (BES) has opened an investigation into a possible data breach in the basic administration of the Bonaire Civil Registry.

After receiving notification from the Executive Committee of possible violations, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (BES) is investigating the facts of the matter. The investigation will include interviews with officers and management involved and possible on-site inspections.
Once the investigation is complete, a report will be compiled, which will first be shared with the relevant organizations and then published with its conclusions and recommendations.
