Creative transformation company WPP is seeking 16 talented individuals to join its Creative Technology Apprenticeship Programme.
The nine-month paid program is designed to equip passionate creatives with next-generation technical skills to prepare them for careers in advertising, marketing and production.

basic skills
After two successful years, most apprentices have received job offers from Hogarth, WPP’s global production division. The 2025 program will start in October. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work on real projects with world-renowned brands, all of whom are WPP clients. In addition, they will receive exclusive training from some of the world’s most renowned technology companies that work with WPP.
The course will cover essential skills for future marketing and advertising, including creative coding, generative AI, game engines, virtual production, advanced machinery and more. However, the course is not limited to technical skills, but explores the impact of technology on individuals, brands and society. Ethics, accessibility and inclusivity are at the core of the course and recruitment process. No formal degree or technical experience is required.
Stephan Pretorius, Chief Technology Officer at WPP, said: “New technologies such as generative AI are rewriting the rules of marketing. At WPP, we are not only adapting, but also developing the next generation of creative technologists. Our apprenticeship programme equips diverse talent with the skills and mindset they need to thrive in this exciting new era of creativity.”
Kat Sullivan, senior director of interactive design at WPP, who co-founded the program with Perry Nightingale, senior vice president of creative AI at WPP, added: “It’s been amazing to witness the transformation of our former apprentices into creative technologists. We like to call them ‘Ripples’ because their global impact and ripple effect is so profound, from showcasing innovations at creative conferences around the world to helping demystify AI for executives at some of our largest clients.”
Open the door
The course will take place at WPP’s Hogarth Innovation Lab in Clerkenwell, London, and will be led by Perry Nightingale and Kat Sullivan.
Omotara Edu, a former apprentice and current Creative Technologist at Hogarth, shared her experience: “The WPP Creative Technology Apprenticeship programme opens doors for most entry-level talent. It gave me a real chance to break into this exciting field, as someone who didn’t have ten years of experience in 3D or motion graphics. I was able to expand my coding skills into unexpected areas, from app development to building AR experiences, which I’m passionate about.”
The application deadline is August 23, 2024. For more information and to apply, visit here.
