Fifteen members of the Islamic State (IS) group were killed and seven US troops were wounded during a joint US-Iranian raid in western Iraq, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Friday. The operation came after months of negotiations between Baghdad and Washington over the presence of anti-jihadist coalition forces in Iraq, which have come under drone and rocket attacks as Israel and Hamas’ war draws in Iranian-backed militant groups across the Middle East.
