Tractors will be allowed on the Britof-Hotemaze road, but bicycles will continue to be banned

The Ministry of Infrastructure, after a comprehensive inspection of the Preddvor-Kranj section of the national road, concluded that it would make sense to lift the ban on the passage of agricultural machinery on the new Hotemaze-Britof ring road. Until then”It may come in early August, because the traffic system on the Preddvor-Kranj section needs to be unified”, the Ministry of Infrastructure announced after a meeting with representatives of the Slovenian Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry (KGZS).

They explained that there is not much long-distance transport of agricultural machinery on this route, and that a similar loop route also allows for the transport of agricultural machinery.”By redirecting traffic from agricultural machinery, noise from settlements will also be reduced and traffic safety for the most vulnerable road users will be improved.They noted that the traffic ban for cyclists will continue to be in place on the roads.

“We are glad that with KGZS we immediately found a solution suitable for residents, farmers and other users of the Hotemaze-Britof road section and that complies with the safety standards of the Slovenian State Road Traffic Regulations”, said Jernej Pavlič, advisor to the Minister of Infrastructure.

These include the section from Labor to Jeprca, the turnoff from Struževa to the intersection with Polica pri Nakle and the section from Podvin to Črnivac. The ministry will review the problems in these sections in the autumn.

The road was opened earlier this month

The long-awaited Britov-Khotmaze road was opened earlier this month, when farmers also expressed their dissatisfaction with the ban on driving agricultural machinery.
