The Isle of Man’s most notorious non-roundabout has only been the site of one car accident resulting in injury.
The Douglas roundel on the promenade at the bottom of Broadway – which opened in 2021 – has sparked a barrage of criticism on social media.
People described it as a “horrible eyesore” and predicted chaos as drivers didn’t know how to navigate it.
However, a Freedom of Information request submitted to the infrastructure department showed that only one personal injury accident had occurred since the section of road opened until the end of May this year.
