Fewer thefts and robberies were reported to police last month compared to May this year.
According to the statistics released by the police in June this year, theft was the most reported crime in that month. 315 cases of theft were reported. 29 cases of robbery were reported.
In May this year, 335 thefts were reported. 50 robberies were reported.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ahmed Shifan said in a post on X that the drop in reports of theft and robbery in June encouraged the police’s efforts to curb crime.

Thefts and robberies decreased in June, but other crime statistics remained the same.
Traffic accidents were the second most reported incident in June, with 212 traffic accidents and 175 drug-related incidents reported.

Since the police began publishing statistics, there have been an average of more than 3,000 thefts per year. By the end of 2022, 3,973 thefts had been reported to the police. By the end of 2023, 3,818 thefts had been reported.
The Provincial Police are working with the council to reduce crime. Police are running various projects to increase public awareness to reduce thefts and accidents.
