Thomas Muller scored the most goals in Bundesliga appearances as Bayern Munich beat Freiburg 2-0 on Saturday.

The 34-year-old Muller has made 710 appearances, the most in Bayern’s history. Muller was previously replaced by former German goalkeeper Sepp Meier. He has made 709 appearances for Bayern in all competitions.

In the first half, England captain Harry Kane scored a penalty kick at the Allianz Arena. Freiburg player Christian Gunta scored a penalty kick in the penalty area. Kane, who scored 36 goals in the league last season, scored his first goal in the Bundesliga this season.

In the 78th minute, Muller scored Bayern’s second goal to seal the three points. Muller received a cross from fast winger Serge Nebri. This was Muller’s 150th league goal for Bayern. He set the record for the most appearances for the team.

Freiburg had a great chance to score in extra time. Bayern’s Portuguese midfielder Joao Parrini was caught in the box and his penalty shot went wide of Lucas Holler’s crossbar.

Under new coach Vincent Kompany, Bayern have six points from two games. Having played two games each in the league so far, Bayern is one of only three teams with a perfect record, along with Heidenheim and RB Leipzig.

Bayern’s next game will be away against newly promoted Holstein Kiel on the 14th of this month. Four days later, Bayern will host Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.
