The Labour Party has 410 MPs, while the number required for a majority in the British Parliament is 326. This was confirmed by the final results of the election, with only 15 constituencies not counted. The Labour Party gained 210 MPs.
The ruling Conservative Party is left with just 114 seats in Parliament, a loss of 247 seats.
In third place are the Liberal Democrats, who will have 70 seats, 62 more than in 2019.
The Scottish National Party gained eight seats, losing 38, while Sinn Fein, the political wing of the former terrorist group the Irish Republican Army, which has until now had no representation in parliament, lost seven.
There are five independents. Nigel Farage’s Reform Party has four seats, the same as the Plaid Party in Wales, the Democratic Unionist Party in Northern Ireland and the Green Party. This is Farage’s first time in Parliament. The Social Democrats have two constituencies. The Unionist Party has one MP, the same as the Ulster Unionist Party and the Unionist Traditional Voice.
