The 42nd edition of the Cultural Journey has opened and will last until July 28. The Secretary of State, Luca Beccari, the Captain of Borgo Maggiore, Barbara Borini and the President of the Council of San Marino Citizens Abroad, Otello Pedini, delivered welcome speeches. More than 30 young people have arrived in the Republic, coming from four circles: Argentina, France, Italy and the United States. Over the next three weeks, the San Marino young people will rotate through courses, activities and workshops, deepening their knowledge of the region and benefiting from fun, leisure and sporty moments. The morning courses will have plenty of space to best learn the Italian language, as well as a presentation of the history of San Marino and its institutions; taking over the chair will be officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, teachers and subject experts. During these days, the San Marino young people will have the opportunity to introduce themselves, talk about their experiences and aspirations, and also have the opportunity to be hosted by two communities in Emilia Romagna, the San Marino Collective of Emilia and the San Marino Citizens of Rimini-Gente del Titano, an association between San Marino and San Marino, to further strengthen the links between compatriots in the country and abroad. In fact, Beccari recalled the importance of maintaining relations between citizens abroad, and the relevance of the Cultural Stay Program, which maintains and further promotes close ties with the country of origin. It is expected that in the coming weeks a deep understanding of their roots will be achieved, as well as the establishment of useful contacts and exchanges to promote and develop prospects in the workplace. This year, at the end of the session, 4 deserving young people will be nominated who will be able to legally participate in the work of the 51st Council of San Marino Citizens Abroad, scheduled for October. Last week, the children will have the opportunity to be the centre of a short film entitled “Julian”, which takes the theme of migration and focuses on a young San Marino resident living abroad. On July 16, the participants will be welcomed at the Palazzo della Republic in an official audience with the Regent, His Excellency Alessandro Rossi and Captain Milena Gasperoni.
