Refuting the allegations of my involvement in the alleged meeting between the Democratic Group and “Taqaddum”
On Tuesday, July 15, 2024, fabricated news circulated on social media, woven from imagination, to the effect that myself (Moatasem Ahmed Saleh), Nur Al-Dayem Taha and Mubarak Ardoul met with the leaders of the “Taqaddum” in 2024. Addis Ababa, in the presence of mediation representatives, mediators, and in this meeting we asked them to facilitate a direct meeting between the Democratic Group and the “Taqaddum” in Tanzania or South Africa!
In light of this, we confirm the following:
*This statement is a blatant lie, a slander spun by a sick person’s imagination for a cheap and twisted purpose and has nothing to do with the truth.
* Personally, I do not know any other person, I have never met any official of “Taqadam” or anyone directly or indirectly associated with it. How could I do this without the authorization or assignment of the Democratic Group and without its knowledge?
* If the Democratic Group wants to meet with “Taqaddum”, it will never need a mediator or a conciliator, and it does not want this, because of the relationship between “Taqaddum” and the Rapid Support Militia, which is regrettable for Sudan and its people. This has been happening since the signing of an agreement with the militia in early January 2024, according to which it “provides” a political incubator for the “Rapid Support” militia and participates in the activities of the “Rapid Support” militia. According to the text of the agreement, among other things, it requires the formation of a civilian government in the areas invaded by the militia, headed by the senior leaders of the island.
*We confirm that no meeting took place in any manner between the Democratic Group and “Taqadum”, whether in mediation or otherwise, and everything that was advocated is pure slander and nothing more.

Press Secretary, Official Spokesperson
Justice and Equality Movement of Sudan.
