The police have launched an investigation and the child’s parents are suspected of abandonment, manslaughter, and negligent injury.
The incident occurred last Friday when two children, a seven-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl from the same family, were playing on the pier in the designated swimming area. They continued to swim along the pier towards deeper waters, where they were later found unconscious and revived.
Police reported that the children were in the water for nearly 20 minutes and could not swim. They were at the lake with their father, mother and 2-year-old brother. A witness mentioned that an older boy, about 12 or 13 years old, was also with the family.
No lifeguard or bystander was suspected of any crime in this case.
