This morning in Sister Town, San Ignacio, a young man from the town of Santa Elena in the Cayo District was found dead. A passerby alerted police at around 2:30 this morning. Upon arriving at the scene at the corner of 15th and Baca Streets, police found 21-year-old Cory Anthony Cruz lying motionless in a vacant lot. According to police records, Cruz had suffered a wound to the right side of his forehead. Due to lack of space at the San Ignacio morgue, the body was taken to the Belmopan mortuary. Love News has learned that the investigation led to the detention of two Roaring Creek Village residents who were found in possession of the victim’s motorcycle. As of news time this evening, no charges have been filed.
