An important meeting between the Minister of State for Industry, Rossano Fabbri, and the Italian Ambassador to San Marino, Fabrizio Colaceci. This meeting, filled with an atmosphere of mutual cooperation and respect, represents a step forward in strengthening relations between the two countries, with a particular focus on economic cooperation and regulatory innovation.
Minister Fabbri and the Ambassador stressed the key role played by businesses in both countries in bilateral relations. Minister Fabbri stressed the importance of San Marino entrepreneurs operating in Italy and vice versa, recognizing the added value these entities bring to both economies. The meeting discussed topics such as strategic investments, innovation sectors and the creation of an advanced regulatory system to encourage entrepreneurial development.
The Minister presented in particular the progress made in relation to the provisions of the Regulatory Sandbox, a strategic initiative aimed at creating an environment conducive to innovation by testing new regulations. This tool has been implemented through a decree that is close to completion and is considered a model that could also represent a reference point for the Italian system.
The Ambassador recalled the strategic cooperation framework provided by the Memorandum of Understanding signed on July 23 last year, aimed at promoting a common agenda between the two countries. This is an opportunity to further strengthen relations between Italy and San Marino.
Finally, cooperation in the field of sports was discussed, with Minister Fabry reiterating his intention to finalize as soon as possible the Memorandum of Understanding on sports and education launched in the previous legislature. Both parties agreed on the importance of strengthening synergies in this area, recognizing the role of sport as a tool for cultural development, social cohesion and international diplomacy.
Referring in passing to the issue of dual citizenship, which is deeply felt by the Italian community living in the Republic, Ambassador Coraci recalled Italy’s experience in recognizing dual citizenship in Law No. 91 of 1992, stressing that having two nationalities does not in any way reduce the impact of dual citizenship. On the contrary, the sense of belonging to each country represents an added value to the country in which it is recognized. The Ambassador added that the concept of “dual citizenship is not half and half, but 100% to one country and 100% to the other”, certainly does not undermine the sense of belonging, but in fact helps to strengthen bilateral relations.
The meeting ended with a joint commitment to further strengthen multifaceted cooperation in order to consolidate relations between the two countries, which have close ties at the democratic, social, cultural and business levels.
