San Marino, August 30, 2024 – “Volunteering is and will always be a redemption and a pride”. This was reiterated in the speech of the Most Excellent Regent of San Marino, who yesterday received the President of San Marino, Rosario Valastro, together with the Minister of Health, Mariela Muraroni, inside the Great Council Hall of the Palace of the Republic. The hearing was attended by the Italian Red Cross, in the presence of Isabella Bizzocchi, Deputy Director of the San Marino Post Company, and Raimondo Fattori, President of the San Marino Red Cross.
The President of CRI stated: “This meeting was an opportunity to strengthen the historical friendship between CRI, the Republic of San Marino and the San Marino Red Cross, a link that culminated on 15 June of this year. We also celebrated its 160th anniversary through a joint philatelic issue with the authorities of the Sovereign Military Order of Italy, San Marino, Vatican City and Malta. The stamp, enclosed in a sheet, stands out with the torches lit during the torchlight procession from Solferino to Castiglione del Stiviere, paying tribute to our volunteers who participated in the rescue of the victims of the serious collapse of the Morandi Bridge in Genoa.”
“The postmark prepared by San Marino Post bears the official emblem of the San Marino Red Cross. The collaboration of the four postal administrations in producing a stamp celebrating the 160th anniversary of the CRI reflects a strong commitment to international cooperation and the promotion of shared humanitarian values, which are fundamental elements of the Republic of San Marino.” Marine Corps.
