Sada Williams placed seventh in Olympic 400m final

Earlier today, Sada Williams finished seventh in the women’s 400m final at the Paris Olympics.

The Barbadian quarter-miler started from lane two and ran 49.83 seconds in her first Olympic final, slightly faster than the 49.89 she ran in the semifinals, thus securing her spot in today’s final.

Marieledy Paulino of the Dominican Republic lived up to expectations and won the gold medal in 48.17 seconds, ahead of Salva Eid Nasser of Bahrain in second place (48.53 seconds). European champion Natalia Kaczmarek of Poland took the bronze medal in 48.98 seconds.
