Luxembourg police have launched several investigations following a spate of crimes on Monday evening, following a violent robbery in Kirchberg and several car break-ins across the country.

Police reported a violent robbery on Karlo Heimer Street in Kirchberg on Monday evening. A man allegedly stole a woman’s cell phone, injuring her in the process and threatening multiple bystanders. The victim later told police that the assailant had beaten her and taken her cell phone, which led to a search and investigation.

Police also reported multiple car thefts in Luxembourg City on Monday night, including the theft of several electronic items from a vehicle on Boulevard Prince Henri. Similar incidents occurred in downtown parking lots, with multiple cars being burglarized and handbags and backpacks being stolen. Police sent a forensic team to the scene.

Another car break-in was reported in the Remerschen car park, with cash and jewellery stolen from the vehicles. Police are investigating all of these cases.
