Summer begins with a press conference on Sunday 8 June 2024 on the “Gustavino” terrace in Riccione, where the second edition of the “Riccione Summer Festival”, organized by the Gaspare Trinkanti Foundation, takes place: summer in Riccione can finally be considered to have begun.
The press conference was attended by Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Culture Sandra Villa, Councillor for Tourism Mattia Guidi, President of PalaRiccione Eleonora Bergamaschi, Artistic Director Mario Marzi, Luciano Tirincanti, always active in the Gaspare Tirincanti Foundation, Mayor Daniela Angelini and the real star artist of the morning, Andrea Mingardi, and the patron of the Festival, Paolo Gualandi.
After the various ritual interventions that presented the artist’s concerts on the bill, space was given to the Mingardi-Guarandi duo, who delighted the audience with stories of the Romagna Riviera and praised their qualities in the musical field.
Mingardi’s stories are exciting, his meetings at night on the Riviera with Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Art Blakey, the bars stayed open all night and let them drink, or in clubs such as Villa Alta, where, late at night, after some of his concerts, he went to relax and sat next to Bruno Martino and asked him: “Come on, play me a piano Summer”.
These stories remind us that the Green Pearl was a center of summer tourism, innovative and, above all, a stage for many musicians and a destination for many movie stars. “The city gave birth to a unique kind of holiday in Europe, known as the Green Pearl of the Adriatic, because things that were recorded in history happened here for the first time. It was the venue for many of the greatest musicians, such as Hengel Gualdi, Piergiorgio Farina, Paolo Zavallon, Gaspare Tirincanti and other dance music creators. Riccione now takes back the scepter, because it doesn’t happen anywhere else. ” Some digs at Versilia, who never managed to take primacy from the Romagna coast, and the story of the Bussola concerts, while Mina or Charles Aznavour performed to an unprepared audience and continued playing rummy.
In short, Andrea Mingardi, a real tourist ambassador of Riccione, sang live the song “Mogol Battisti” (famous for the duet with Mina) and started a series of interesting stories in the world of football with patron Paolo Gualandi, from their shared fighting spirit in the Bologna youth football team to the two games in the morning at the Assal Stadium that lasted until dawn.
Such wonderful stories from the past magically illuminate the press conference and make the memories sing.
As far as the program of artists is concerned, there is little to add, except that this edition is at the top nationally in the field of jazz music, and it cannot be overlooked that all the concerts (except the first one in collaboration with Al Di Meola : https://www.facebook.com/AlDiMeolaMusic/?locale=it_IT) are completely free, which once again succeeds in making Riccione a place that is always present in unique and cutting-edge initiatives in the art of hospitality.
