Members of Rezistans ek Alternativ (ReA) appeared before the media yesterday. While the topic focused on cultural and artistic policy, Stefan Gua began his speech by discussing the events that took place on Tuesday in the Col d’Or, involving demonstrators from the movement Return our land and the police. He affirmed that the ReA stands with all those who are demonstrating and condemning the police action under the leadership of Pravind Jugnauth. He accused the latter of somehow suppressing and silencing the opposition ‘Cruel, illegal and violent’especially through strategies such as planting.

Stefan Gua believes that the police has no right to act like a nightclub bouncer; if it believes that there is a violation of the law, it must act within the law. He also commented on Minister Avinash Tilak’s remarks on a private radio station, in which the latter allegedly justified police violence due to his remarks against Pravind Jugnauth. Stefan Gua believes this is very serious. “Does this mean that anyone who opposes Pravind Jagannath’s ideas will face police violence?”
