On the occasion of Vidovdan, the representative of Republika Srpska in Serbia held a reception for members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina/Republika Srpska/3rd Infantry Regiment.
The regiment cherishes the traditions of the Republika Srpska Army and its officers are being trained at the Serbian Army National Defense University in Belgrade.
Brigadier General Stan Cavic, military attaché at the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Belgrade, thanked the delegates for inviting members of the 3rd Infantry Regiment to commemorate Vidovdan in this way, which is a baptismal honor for the Serbian Army and the regiment.
Cavic reminded that the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina/Republika Srpska/3rd Infantry Regiment has been successfully nurturing the traditions of the Republika Srpska Army since 2006.
The Bosnian Ambassador to Serbia, Alexander Vranjes, said that the traditions of the Republika Srpska Army are very important, they are brave and the best sons have sacrificed their lives for Serbia.
– That is why we should never stop celebrating and remembering all the days related to the Serb Army – our 3rd Infantry Regiment / Republika Srpska / officially inherited all its traditions – said Vranješ.
The head of the Serb delegation, Mladan Sikovic, said Vidovdan was special for the delegation, mainly because it marked the baptism of the 3rd Infantry Regiment, which inherited the traditions and everything that the Serb army did in the Great Patriotic War.
– Today is an opportunity to remember all those who gave their lives in past wars. Today we send the message that the freedom of Republika Srpska and the Serbian people is important to us, but also the freedom of all our neighbors who should build the future with us in these areas, ”said Čikovic.
